CharlottesvilleTango is proud to announce its newest Argentine tango festival:
HallowTango – October 28-30, 2011
Coinciding with the weekend before Halloween, what better time to explore the mysterious, enchanting, and magical aspects of the dance! The HallowTango Festival includes six workshops, a costume milonga, special performance by world-renowned tango dancers, practica, and time for private lessons.
We are welcoming back, with excited and open arms, the beautiful Rosalía Gasso and Alejandro Barrientos. Highly regarded professional teachers, choreographers, and performers of tango from Buenos Aires, Rosalía and Alejandro worked with us at our TodoTango Mini-Festival in May 2011. Rosalía and Alejandro received rave reviews for their skilled instruction and have used that experience to create a workshop schedule tailored to the interests of the CharlottesvilleTango community.
Advanced registration is recommended; a leader-follower balance will try to be maintained and At the Door entrance is contingent on space and the balance.
Make sure to join us for the Saturday Costume Milonga. At the door discount for dancers in costume and a chance to win the Best Costume Award (it’ll be a good one!). During Rosalía and Alejandro’s exhibition performance, you’ll have the opportunity to watch a professional show and see their stellar skills in action, up-close!
For festival attendees who need assistance with accommodation or a place to prepare for the Saturday milonga after workshops, there are limited homestay options volunteered by the Charlottesville Tango community. Please contact us if you are interested.
All Festival events will be held in the CharlottesvilleTango Studio, 313 2nd St. SE,
Charlottesville, VA 22902. For parking information, please visit charlottesvilletango.org:
We look forward to seeing you on the dance floor!
